The Public Health Agency of Sweden’s Role in EU Public Health Work

The Public Health Agency of Sweden participates in the European Union’s public health efforts by representing Sweden in expert groups, working groups, and networks linked to, among others, the European Commission, the EU’s disease control agency ECDC, the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA), as well as other EU institutions and member states.

The agency contributes knowledge, data, and expertise in areas such as communicable disease control, preparedness, health promotion, and public health statistics. Cooperation within the EU is an important part of developing measures based on science and proven experience, and of strengthening preventive and health-promoting work – both in Sweden and across the EU as a whole.
