"It’s about life" is Sweden’s national strategy for mental health and suicide prevention, covering the period 2025–2034. The strategy provides a long-term direction for work in this field, grounded in a cross-sectoral approach that enables the development of collaborative, society-wide measures. Its aim is to promote mental health and wellbeing, prevent mental ill-health, and reduce suicide by improving the lives of people with psychiatric conditions and addressing both individual and structural factors.
The strategy encompasses four overarching goals and seven objectives to guide the work, with a focus on sustainable societal structures that support the mental health and wellbeing of both current and future generations.
